PDRM Arrests 26yo M’sian for Running Over Man’s Leg With His Car in Front of Victim’s Family in Shah Alam

In recent news, the Shah Alam District Police issued a statement on Facebook regarding an incident involving a 49-year-old maritime trainer and a 26-year-old vehicle components seller.

The police received a report from the victim on the day of the incident, in which he described how he was driving home with his family when he was involved in a road rage incident that resulted in him being hit.

He knocked on the victim’s side window

The statement revealed how another car which was being driven recklessly by the suspect, was moving very closely to the victim before abruptly stopping in front of the victim’s car.

The suspect then approached the victim’s car and knocked on the driver’s side window. When the victim opened the door, he tried to grab the car keys but was unsuccessful.

As the victim stepped out of the vehicle, a verbal altercation broke out between them.

The suspect attempted to run over the victim twice

The victim managed to avoid the 1st attempt. However, during the 2nd attempt, the victim was hit and fell, causing his right leg to be run over by the suspect’s vehicle where the suspect then sped away.

The victim sustained a minor fracture in his right leg and sought outpatient treatment at Shah Alam Hospital.

Suspect was tested positive for drugs

Acting on information, the police arrested the suspect and seized the car that he was driving during the incident in Meru Klang.

The statement also revealed how the suspect doesn’t have any criminal history, but a urine test came back positive for Benzo drugs. A remand for the suspect will be requested at the Shah Alam Court on October 10 at 10:00 AM.

The investigation is being conducted under Section 307/279 of the Penal Code, which could mean up to 20 years in prison and a fine for the 1st charge, and up to 6 months in jail or a fine of up to RM2,000 for the 2nd charge if he gets convicted.
