Over 20 Outlets In Genting Highlands Ordered To Close After Shopper Tests Positive For Covid-19

Over 20 outlets and locations in Genting Highlands, Pahang have been ordered to close temporarily starting 6 December 2020 after an individual who tested positive for Covid-19 had visited the areas.

The management of Genting Highlands Premium Outlets was informed by the Ministry of Health that a shopper had visited their Centre on 16 November 2020.

According to contact tracing, the shopper had visited the following stores and public places:

  • Asics Factory Outlet
  • BALL WATCH
  • Calvin Klein
  • Cotton On
  • G2000 Outlet
  • Lacoste Outlet
  • Onitsuka Tiger
  • Prayer Room
  • Nike Factory Store
  • Sacoor Outlet
  • Vincci

Genting Highlands Premium Outlets said in a statement that they have implemented all mitigation steps and public safety measures since the start of the year to ensure that their Centre remains clean and sanitised.

They added that the places involved will reopen on 9 December 2020 after undergoing sanitisation in accordance with the requirements of the relevant authorities.

Meanwhile, here’s a list of other venues in Genting Highlands that have been temporarily closed as well:

  7. Skyway Awana Station
  8. Factory Outlet Store (FOS), Awana Skyway Station
  9. Watson, Awana Sky Central
  10. Royal Sporting House, Sky Avenue

In a statement released by Bentong Municipal Council (MPB), these businesses under the management of Genting Malaysia Berhad have been instructed to close temporarily from 6 to 8 December 2020.

Furthermore, an additional 44 locations have been ordered to close as instructed by the Pahang State Government from 6 to 8 December 2020. These premises are only allowed to operate again after disinfection activities are carried out.
