[UPDATED] NU Sentral? Taman Desa? Here’s A List Of Places In The Klang Valley With Confirmed Covid-19 Cases

It comes as no surprise that the number of positive Covid-19 cases in Malaysia has been fluctuating with more clusters being reported especially by returnees from Sabah. Over the weekend, a number of prominent places in the Klang Valley and Petaling Jaya reported positive Covid-19 cases which led to temporary shutdowns and extensive sanitisation processes.

Here are some prominent places in Klang Valley that have recorded positive Covid-19 cases:

 

1. NU Sentral

In a statement released by Nu Sentral on their Facebook page which reads “NU SENTRAL SHOPPING CENTRE MANAGEMENT STAFF REPORTED POSITIVE COVID-19”, the shopping centre informed that one of their employees was tested positive for Covid-19 on 26 September 2020.

“The Ministry of Health (MOH) has immediately conducted contact tracing and all close contacts, including employees of NU Sentral’s management office.”

 

2. Taman Desa Serviced Apartments

In a statement released yesterday, 27 September, the management informed that a resident of Desa Green Serviced Apartments staying at Block 2 has tested positive for the virus. They reassured that the management has immediately taken the necessary steps to address the issue at hand by disinfecting possible contaminated areas.

 

3. The LINC KL

The Linc Development Sdn Bhd announced on 24 September that a parent of a child at Trinity Kids, The Linc KL branch has just been tested Covid-19 positive.

The child is on a half-day program until noon and last attended school on Thursday, 17th September. They reassured that the management has taken all necessary preventive measures to contain the risk of exposure to our customers, staff and tenants.

4. Suria KLCC 

The management of Suria KLCC confirmed a positive Covid-19 case dated 23 September 2020 involving a member of Babel who had since been appropriately isolated.

The staff and members who came in close contact with the infected members were swab tested and instructed to self-quarantine. The gym member reportedly also visited the Babel brach in TTDI. Babel and Suria KLCC reassured that they have taken preventative measures and thorough sanitisation and disinfection exercise was carried out at Babel and its surrounding area.

In a statement, the management confirmed that a staff from the Centralwalk Management Office was tested positive and had a travelling history. The office will be temporarily closed from 28 September to 4 October. Not only that, all three towers, namely, i-Soho, i-Suite and Centralwalk facilities area will be temporarily closed as well.

 

6. Desa Petaling Sports Complex

A man who competed in a badminton competition that was held in Desa Petaling Sports Complex tested positive for Covid-19 and is now alerting the public and those who were in close contact with him to get themselves tested.

On 19 September, the man visited the complex at Taman Desa Petaling, according to a report from China Press. He found out that he tested positive a week later (26 September) and immediately notified his relatives and friends, advising them to stay calm and get tested-as well as isolate themselves in quarantine as soon as possible.

 

7. SMK Pendamaran Jaya, Klang

Two secondary school students from SMK Pendamaran Jaya in Klang have tested positive for Covid-19. Selangor Health Director Datuk Dr Sha’ari Ngadiman has confirmed the two positive cases.

The Selangor education director Izmi Ismail has confirmed that the two students have been quarantined. It is still unknown regarding how the two students were infected by Covid-19. However, it is reported that there are a number of Sabahan children attending the school.

8. Sri Anggerik 1, Puchong Jaya

In a post shared on Puchong TODAY, a resident from Sri Anggerik 1 Apartment in Puchong Jaya reportedly tested positive for Covid-19 yesterday in a statement released by the residence’s management.

The management assured its residents that thorough sanitisation is being carried out for all staircases, corridors, and public areas on all blocks of Sri Anggerik Apartments. “We advise all residents to maintain their personal hygiene and health. Everybody is strongly encouraged to wear face masks, use hand sanitiser when necessary, and wash your hands regularly.”

9. Paradigm Mall

Padini Holdings Berhad took to their Facebook page to announce that a staff member from Brands Outlet in Paradigm Mall tested positive for Covid-19 yesterday (5 October).

The patient is currently receiving medical attention and Brands Outlet is working along the guidelines set by the Health Ministry to perform contact tracing. They’ve also temporarily closed the outlet to mitigate the risk of infection and undergo a thorough sanitisation and deep cleaning process.

10. 1 Utama

1 Utama has confirmed that a staff from one of their outlets has tested positive for Covid-19. In a Facebook post on 5 October, the individual involved is an outlet staff at Mac City Service Centre (Lot S330, 2nd Floor 1 Utama).

“After investigation, the said staff has not stepped into our mall premise since clocking out from work on 30th September, with his off day on 1st October,” they wrote.

11. Sri Alpinia Apartment, Puchong

A case has been reported in an apartment building in Puchong at the Sri Alpinia Apartment, as showcased in the Puchong News Groupon 1 October 2020. They wrote, “The management hereby would like to inform that one of the residents from Block E has been infected with Covid-19 on 30 September 2020. The patient has been evacuated by the Malaysian Ministry of Health (MOH) and is undergoing further treatment.”

They also assured their residents that the disinfection process is underway.

12. Maybank, Sri Petaling

Maybank’s Sri Petaling branch is now closed due to possible exposure from a positive Covid-19 case. In a statement that was displayed on the branch, it was said that the premise will be undergoing a thorough “deep-cleansing owing to possible exposure to a case involving an external person.”

13. Park 51 Residency

A resident from Park 51 Residency, Petaling Jaya has been confirmed to have tested positive for the Covid-19 today (28 September 2020), as reported by Sin Chew. According to the statement released by the condominium, JMB Park 51, the person was sent to a government hospital by the staff from the Ministry of Health. The management will carry out proper sanitisation procedures in all common areas of the condominium to ensure the safety of all residents.

 

14. Huckleberry Damansara Heights

Huckleberry Damansara Heights just reported that one of their own kitchen helpers tested positive for Covid-19. In a statement put up on their premise, the management said that the staff did not report to work starting from 1 October. On 6 October, he calls to inform the management that he tested positive for Covid-19.

It was emphasised that the staff did not contract the virus from anyone on Huckleberry’s premises. However, they did say that the premise will be closed for “thorough sanitisation and deep cleaning.” They added that all staff are being tested and will report their results for everybody’s peace of mind

15. Tung Shin Hospital

Tung Shin Hospital has taken to Facebook to announce that five patients have tested positive for Covid-19. Four of the patients were locals and the coronavirus was detected when they took a pre-surgery swab test. Another case is a foreigner who went to take a swab test pre-travel. They assure that all of the staff who were in close contact with the patients were wearing PPE and that they will sanitise the places that the patients went to.

16. Agro Bank, Sungai Buloh

Agro Bank Sungai Buloh has been closed for sanitisation purposes after a staff member has tested positive for Covid-19. Members of the public were advised to do their transactions online and only go to the Agrobank Selayang branch if needed.

It’s time to stop being selfish as at this point, no one is ready for the Movement Control Order to happen again. If you leave your house, WEAR YOUR MASK and maintain physical distancing at all times. If you’re required to undergo home-quarantine, make sure to quarantine for the full 14 days!
