In a statement addressing FAQs that were shared on their Facebook page, the ministry said that there will be no trial exams. They also assured students and parents that opportunities to apply to the public institutions of higher education (IPTA) will not be jeopardised by the cancellation of these trial examinations.

Posted by Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia on Monday, January 18, 2021

“The Ministry of Education has discussed with the admissions department of IPTA students and the Ministry of Higher Education to ensure that opportunities for students to pursue tertiary education are not jeopardised.”

The FAQs also addressed the issue of students returning to schools in MCO areas even if they lived in an area that was not classified under the MCO and vice versa. “Special permission letters will be issued by their schools to allow students to travel inter-district or interstate to attend school.”
