First, former prime minister Najib Razak was called in by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to be questioned followed by his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor for the highly suspicious 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) scandal. Recently, Umno’s newly appointed chairman Zahid Hamidi was also called in by MACC to be questioned about the infamous RM2.6 billion donation.

Now, another high profile person that MACC will be questioning is Najib’s stepson, Riza Aziz, who has been linked to the 1MDB scandal as well. He is scheduled for questioning at the MACC headquarters tomorrow (July 3) at 2pm, as reported by The Sun Daily.

The questioning session is in regards to the hundreds of millions of ringgit used to produce Hollywood movies, that allegedly came from 1MDB funds.

However, according to Free Malaysia Today, he has denied the claim.

Riza, 48, is also an associate of fugitive Low Taek Jho, also known as Jho Low. Low has been named as the prime suspect in the 1MDB scandal.

Riza, who is Rosmah’s biological son, is a film producer and co-founder of Hollywood film production company, Red Granite Pictures.

Earlier in March 2018, there were allegations that the hit Hollywood film “The Wolf of Wall Street” was funded with money stolen from 1MDB. This had caused the film’s producers to pay back US$60 million (RM242.4 million) to the US government.

It seems like everyone associated with Najib is being called into MACC for questioning. I guess we have to wait and see what happens tomorrow.
