Taking place at a fun fair near Taiping, Perak, this group of people were seen assaulting operators of a ‘Sotong ride’ when this man’s wife and son fell off the ride.

In the video, the man can be seen hurling obscenities and was restrained by the public, in an incident which could have happened to any parent met with the same situation.

Here is a video of what took place. Viewer discretion is advised.

In a corresponding Tweet, the man’s brother writes: “The man in the red coloured t-shirt is my bother. He brought his family to the Taiping fun fair yesterday with his wife and 1-year-old son who wanted to go on the octopus wheel ride.”

“A few seconds into the ride, the chair broke which caused his wife and son to fall with minor injuries.”

“The operators should check all the facilities but they failed to do so. If you were in his shoes, wouldn’t you have done the same thing?”

A police investigation is currently underway.

In the police report issued by the Taiping District Police Chief ACP Mohamad Nasir Bin Ismail, the police have now called on witnesses to help with the investigation.

Let’s hope that incidences like this, will be a stark reminder to all operators that safety should be their utmost priority.
