This tragedy could’ve been avoided if she came clean with her family from the start.
On 14 October (Sunday), a teenager was shockingly found dead with her newborn baby in the bathroom of a house in Taman Kerian Permai, Perak. Preliminary investigation revealed that the teenager had died while delivering the baby.

According to NST, the 18-year-old girl had earlier asked her mother for permission to use the bathroom in the master bedroom at 8.30am. After 30 minutes, the girl was still inside, which prompted her mother to check on her.
“The teen replied that she was having constipation. At about 10am, the mother called for her again and she replied that she was still not done using the toilet.
“This went on for some time. The mother or the youngest sibling kept checking up on her. Each time, she would give the same answer. However, at 2pm, she did not reply at all.
“At this point, the mother broke down the door to the bathroom and found the victim leaning against the wall, unconscious. She looked pale and there was blood all over the floor. The mother also saw an ‘object’ and blood in the toilet bowl,” State Criminal Investigation Department chief Senior Assistant Commissioner Yahya Abd Rahman said.

The mother quickly dialled 999 after she failed to revive her daughter. The medical team arrived at the house at 2.45pm and pronounced both the victim and the baby dead. The bodies were then taken to Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun for post-mortem examination and the case has been classified as sudden death.
This incident must’ve hit the family hard as none of them knew the victim was pregnant. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this trying time.
