Studying abroad is probably every student’s lifelong dream. It’s a major change and can seem scary, but it’s all about stepping out of your bubble, trying new things, and getting to know different cultures.
You’re in luck because the Japanese ambassador to Malaysia, @Amb_Takahashi, has taken it upon himself to share exactly how you can make it happen! And just like that, you’ll be on your way to Japan.
Takahashi announced on his Twitter that applications for the Japan Government (MEXT) Scholarship 2025 are now open for Specialised Training College, College of Technology (Kosen), undergraduate, and postgraduate students.
The exciting update reveals that undergraduates, students of Specialized Training Colleges, and those in College of Technology (Kosen) can easily apply starting April 2025, with monthly allowances of ¥117,000 (approximately RM4,000).
Good command of English or Japanese with excellent result in other major subjects is a must!
Adding to the excitement, the entrance examination and tuition fees for universities will be waived, and a round-trip airplane ticket will be provided.
However, applicants must be between 18 to 25 years old as of April 1, 2025, and have completed SPM with 11 years of formal education. Alternatively, they may apply with STPM, UEC, Matriculation, or Diploma results to be eligible for this opportunity.
Postgraduate applicants must be a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree holder with minimum CGPA 3.4
Postgraduate applicants should be under 35 years old as of April 1, 2025. Undergraduates or Master’s students in their final year are encouraged to apply.
The program offers monthly allowances of ¥143,000 (approximately RM5,000), waived fees for entrance examinations, matriculation, and tuition, as well as a round-trip airplane ticket.
