You don’t need to spend A LOT to enjoy a meal. To some people, a simple plate of rice with a couple of dishes is enough for satisfaction.

For the past few weeks, social media has been flooded with the “competition” of some customers paying high prices for a plate of Nasi Kandar. This Malaysian couple, however, finds joy in simplicity in their meal. In a Facebook post by Nasi Kandar Sulaiman, the couple, who is also one of the regular customers at the restaurant in Penang was revealed to have spent less than RM10 for their meal, including beverages!

Less than RM10 for a plate of Nasi Kandar? That sounds impossible but the husband and wife prefer their meal to be simple and less heavy.

“Most of the time, they only have rice, gravy, egg and lady’s finger. Simple meal, but they’re happy with it because they’re grateful for what they have.”

In a “race” to beat the high prices paid by previous customers who had a lot on their plates, the management of the popular restaurant in Penang decided to share a post about the couple to preach about appreciation.

“It’s not just about food. In marriage, if both parties can learn to appreciate everything they have, in God’s will, everything will be fine.”

“Expensive or cheap, every customer will be treated equally”

In another FB post, Nasi Kandar Sulaiman highlighted that regardless of the portion and the portion of the food, every customer who steps foot into the restaurant will receive equal treatment.

No discrimination.

“Eat whatever you want. No pressure. Cheap or expensive, both serve the same purpose – so you can leave with a satisfied tummy.”

Nasi Kandar Sulaiman also said they celebrate all customers who dine in at the place without any discrimination. We cannot deny that most of the times, simplicity is the best.

RM10? Rm100? As long as you leave the place as a happy customer, that’s all that matters.
