Unique car registration numbers are not cheap and the prices can sometimes reach up to 6 figures. Those who can afford don’t mind paying but how much are you willing to pay for a different-looking number?
Just recently, on his Instagram account @azharbsulaiman, Malaysian actor Azhar Sulaiman revealed his intention to sell his car registration number MAF14 but we’re not sure if car enthusiasts are willing to pay the amount.
“Bidding starts at RM1.85 million. I’m letting go the only MAFIA”, Azhar said.
That’s even higher than the registration number that belongs to Sultan Johor – FF1 which was sold at RM1.2 million back in June. Anthony Loke also announced that payment of RM1.2mil is the highest amount that has ever been collected by the government for the registration of a single vehicle plate number.
Azhar also included a picture of him holding the road tax of the car registration number as proof that he is indeed the owner of that registration number. Other than that, he shared a picture of his Nissan Murano with the plate number.
Netizens are watching
Many netizens commented on his post but so far, none of them expressed interest in buying due to the high price of the registration number, and some even joked about doing an installment plan for the number.
Other netizens even claimed that they have seen the number plate at multiple places in the past.
“I saw this at The Curve back then.”
“Can I do cash on delivery?”
“I used to see the Nissan Murano but it was green last time, and it was almost 20 years ago.”
“Long time ago, I used to see the car at Ampang.”
“I first saw this car and the number back in 2008, a year later in Bukit Damansara. It was indeed Azhar in the car.”
“I am definitely not buying, no negotiations needed. I’ll get it when I have enough money.”
“I saw this in Bangsar before!”
“I saw this car many times in Penchala and TTDI and every time I saw it, I was excited to see the MAF14 plate number.”
“Put it on Shopee, please. I’ll use SPaylater.”
“Worth the price, because the entity on that name is understood by many. MAFIA. But can I owe you first?”
“Can I use Atome to pay?”
“I’ve been watching this plate number since its existence, and Azhar has always been the owner.”
Do you think MAFI4 stands a chance to beat FF1 in terms of price? If you’re thinking of becoming a “mafia”, are you willing to pay RM1.85 million for the registration number?
