An unfortunate accident occurred at Jalan Tali Air, Sawah Sempadan, Tanjong Karang this morning at 2:30 am when a Myvi collided with a Mercedes-Benz.
It all began when the 66-year-old Mercedes-Benz driver stopped his vehicle in the middle of the road. The reason for his behaviour remained unknown as of today. A Perodua Myvi was driving along the road, and it collided with the Mercedes Benz at full speed as it could not slow down in time.
The Myvi was flung into a roadside drain, and its 40-year-old driver passed away on the spot. Muhammad Fadzli Muhammad Yusari, the victim who was heading to Tanjong Karang from Rawang, died from severe head injuries.
According to the New Straits Times, the elderly driver of the Mercedes-Benz C200 later slit his throat with a sharp object, killing himself in his car. He passed away on the scene as well.
A team of firemen was dispatched to the scene after receiving a report at about 2:31 am. Upon arrival, they removed the deceased men’s bodies from their respective cars.
The Kuala Selangor deputy police chief, Deputy Superintendent Noor Janihan Nanyan mentioned that early investigations revealed that the Mercedes driver made plans to commit suicide, as reported on Harian Metro.
Both deceased men were sent to the Tanjong Karang Hospital for autopsies to be carried out. Witnesses said that the Mercedes driver had shown signs of confusion before he committed suicide.
This case is currently under investigations, and we urge everyone not to make blind assumptions (and accusations). May the deceased men rest in peace, and our hearts go to their families and friends.
