Authorities have detained a 55-year-old male headmaster from a local primary school following allegations of inappropriate behaviour toward a 12-year-old male student. The incidents are reported to have occurred both in the school’s restroom and the headmaster’s office.

The matter came to light when the student, a Year Six pupil and the eldest of three siblings, confided in his mother about the alleged encounters. She subsequently accompanied him to the Melaka Tengah police station to file a report on Friday, August 8.

Initial investigations suggest that one of the incidents took place around 8 am on July 29. The student was in the restroom with two classmates when the headmaster allegedly entered and instructed the other children to return to class, leaving the boy alone.

During this period, the suspect allegedly uttered “I love you” to the victim and demanded that the latter respond by saying “I love you too”.

Further claims indicate that a similar incident occurred in June, when the student and a friend were assisting the headmaster with administrative tasks in his office. The suspect allegedly touched the student inappropriately during this encounter.

The student initially withheld information about the earlier incident due to fear but later disclosed it to his mother after experiencing emotional distress. This led the family to take formal action.

Police have since recorded witness statements and conducted examinations of the locations where the alleged incidents occurred. The suspect was taken into custody shortly after the report was filed to assist with the ongoing investigation.
