Man Severely Injured, Loses 5 Fingers in Brutal Sword Attack Outside Bandar Sunway Restaurant

A man lost five of his fingers after being attacked by five men with machetes and swords.

The horrific accident happened yesterday morning (April 23) outside a restaurant at Bandar Sunway, Subang Jaya. According to PDRM, the police received a call about the matter around 1:50 AM before they dispatched officers to the scene.

Subang Jaya Chief Police, Assistant Commissioner Wan Azlan Wan Mamat, said the victim and his friend were on their way home from the restaurant when the masked attackers, who came in a white Toyota Vios, slashed the victim.

PDRM also believes that all suspects were local, and they fled in the same car after attacking the victim.

“The victim couldn’t evade the attackers. He lost 5 of his fingers during the attack,” Wan Azlan said.

The 30-year-old victim survived but suffered many injuries, namely on his hands, legs, and body. He is currently receiving treatment at a hospital.

The motive behind the attack is still being investigated, and PDRM is on the hunt for the suspects, as reported by BERNAMA.

The case is being investigated under Section 326 of the Penal Code for intentionally causing serious injury by using a sharp weapon, and if convicted, the suspect can be sentenced to up to 20 years in prison, a fine or whipping.
