Many fans of different fandoms would always try their best to collect all the memorabilia of their favourite characters and/or singers.
In Japan where the anime culture runs deep, it is quite easy to buy collectables of your favourite anime series or characters. You can get them in the form of capsules and blind bags at the supermarket or at the train station. However, they are unidentifiable in the bag/ capsule and you do not know which character you might be getting.
One fan of the very popular anime series Kimetsu no Yaiba was arrested after he tore open a few packages just to find his favourite character.
At 10pm on 8 October, a construction worker in Kyoto entered a convenience store, reported Sora News 24. In there, it has been said that the man had torn open three of the paper packages just so that he could find the keychain featuring his favourite character, Shinobu Kocho. One of those packages costs 660 yen (RM25.78).
He then proceeded to pay for the keychain that he had selected and left the opened ones on the shelf. On 16 November, the 35-year-old man was arrested after they identified him from the surveillance footage in the convenience store.
Well, this is certainly a very big price to pay as compared to just buying the packages!
