Recently, a young man from Kelantan received a lot of attention from Malaysian netizens when photos of his face went viral on social media.
21-year-old Amirul Rizwan Musa, also known as Miyyo Rizone, has drawn a lot of attention for his out-of-this-world, anime-like appearance.
Wow! Is he even real?!
He’s somewhat of a celebrity on social media and has his own beauty line, MR Beauty Line Sdn Bhd. He even met Happy Polla herself!
Although Miyyo has been the subject of fascination among Malaysian netizens, many of them have also passed negative comments about his appearance, judging him for altering his face using cosmetic procedures.
He shared with the New Straits Times,
“I have gained so much attention that I have lost the trust of some customers who condemned me for going under the knife to change my appearance,” said the 21-year-old.
“People have come up to me in public and insulted me in my face. I have received this kind of backlash both online and in the streets, in Kelantan and Kuala Lumpur.”
He went on to say that he was the subject of criticism among some of his family members as well, but his parents thankfully accept him no matter what he does to his appearance.
He pleads the public to stop criticising his looks, saying,
“Please try to understand my situation and stop dehumanising and cursing me. It is very stressful.”
Of course, Miyyo hasn’t always had his doll-like appearance. When he was 16, he contracted chickenpox, which left the skin on his face scarred, thus resulting in his very low self-esteem.
“I was obsessed with anime characters and I felt ashamed that I looked the way I did back then so I decided to undergo plastic surgery to boost my confidence.”
It’s definitely rude for people to cyberbully him over his looks, especially when they don’t know his whole story!
So guys, stop casting remarks about other people. It’s easy to type words on a keyboard, but remember that the person who’s receiving the comments is another human being too.
