It’s common sense for anyone, no matter the creed, to be respectful of all holy places everywhere but sadly these days, it’s not common anymore.
The iconic Kota Kinabalu City Mosque has recently barred tourists from visiting the area, following a viral video of two women, inappropriately dressed who acted disrespectfully.
The video clearly showed the two women dancing on top of the front fence of the mosque and according to mosque chairman, Datuk Jamal Sakaran, they were already briefed on the do’s and don’ts of visiting the mosque.
In a statement by him today,
“Our immediate action is to close the mosque to visitors. All express buses, Grab cars and taxis are not allowed to bring tourists to the mosque compound.”
“Only taxis registered with the mosque management are allowed to bring visitors,” he added.
Apart from that, the management will also hire RELA members to guard the mosque and its vicinity.
The video of the incident can be viewed below.

Currently the video has been viewed over 100k times and obviously this incident had Malaysians outraged.
It doesn’t matter where we go, but we must always remember to be on our best behaviour to be a good representation of our very own country!
