If you still haven’t registered as a voter then you should take note!
Malaysiakini reported that the Election Commission (EC) has just launched a website that will allow Malaysians to register to vote and/or make changes to their voting information online. Prior to this, Malaysians had to go through the hassle of filling up EC’s Form A in person at post offices.
Psst… you can still register as a voter in the post offices if you prefer the old school way.
That said, registering for voting via the website is a piece of cake as there are only three steps to follow, and these steps are as mentioned below:
- You will need to create a user account by providing your personal details, your MyKad picture and a “selfie”.
- After receiving the confirmation email, activate your user account.
- Then fill in Form A and other additional forms online.
You can take a look at infographic below for better understanding:

MySPR Daftar was introduced to the public today (18th July 2019) by the EC chief Azhar Azizan Harun, and he was quoted as saying,
“Changes have to be made in accordance with technological trends, and the EC has taken this opportunity to introduce MySPR Daftar, which was created to simplify the voter registration process, and the process of changing voting districts for those who have changed their addresses on their ICs.”
“This can now be done online anytime and from anywhere using your smartphone or tablet. This is clearly a lot easier and efficient compared to conventional methods.”
We really do hope that this new initiative will benefit all Malaysians and save them the hassle of physically going to the post office to register as voters. Let us know what you think of this initiative in the comments below.
