Some of us NEED a daily dose of morning caffeine to keep ourselves energised at work, while others utilise the nighttime well for a good 7 to 8 hours of sleep.

The Deputy Minister of Finance, Lim Hui Ying recently shared a TikTok video @huiying_lim, showing other ministers moving their muscles around in a huge meeting room. At the 1st glance, it does look like everyone was dancing lightly in a meeting room.

Hui Ying, however, was quick to deny the “dancing” and explained to her followers exactly what was everyone doing.

“Were the ministers dancing at work? Of course no! We were actually doing some light exercises for a quick break,” Hui Ying said in the caption.

Minister of Youth & Sports, Hannah Yeoh, and UMNO’s President, Zahid Hamidi were also seen taking part in the light exercise. Hui Ying added and explained that the motive to do so was to keep everyone awake.

“The light exercise was done to keep everyone focused on their routines.”

“Have fun while we suffer”

Some netizens are not happy to see the ministers doing so, which they claim as “having fun”.

“The people are suffering and looking at the ministers having fun.”

“Looks fun to be a minister with thousands of Ringgit in their bank accounts.”

“Of course they like it. Hundreds of Ringgit of allowance with a job that’s not even that hard.”

“Be happy while you can.”

On the other hand, some netizens pointed out that it’s common for ministers to move around as a trick to keep themselves awake.

“That’s an exercise, so try not to be envious”

“That’s an exercise to keep you awake. The haters won’t be able to jump like this.”

“That’s good! Keep yourself awake and not just sleep.”

“Employees in Japanese factories do the same thing.”

“It’s not wrong to stay active.”

“It’s good for your health and to keep yourself awake. Not a problem to me.”

“Try not to be envious. Everyone has their ways to stay awake. They did this to stay awake and not fall asleep. It’s common. I did this too last time.”

What do you do at work to stay awake? Getting coffee, a smoke break, or a light exercise?
