Malaysia has recorded its 17th death due to Covid-19 as reported by the Ministry of Health.

The deceased, believed to be case 1251, is a 66-year-old citizen who has a background of several chronic diseases.

The deceased started showing symptoms a week before being admitted to Sultanah Fatimah Specialist Hospital, Muar on 20th March.

Her condition was critical when she arrived at the Emergency Department and later needed breathing assistance on the same day.

She was tested positive for Covid-19 on 21st March and her health begun deteriorating until she passed away on 25th March at 4.10am.

Meanwhile, the source of the infection is still under investigation.
