Just last week, the whole hype surrounding the multiple raids at former prime minister Najib Razak’s houses unfolded before our eyes, as many of us keenly kept our attention on the news for the latest updates.

After a few days of extensive searching and probing, the police concluded their investigation at Najib’s Jalan Langgak Duta home, but stories of this operation had sparked a lot of curiousity among some Malaysians, even turning it into a tourist spot!

People have started gathering at Jalan Duta to take selfies in front of the former prime minister’s house, which is located about 200 metres from where the police have cordoned off the road, reported The Star.

One visitor said her husband had brought her all the way from Klang to this spot, and told her that he was taking her somewhere special as a “surprise”.

“I thought it was to go shopping or to eat. On the way he never once revealed where he was bringing me. I took a nap and only when I got up I realised the surprise,” she said. Not sure if she was happy with this “surprise” though.

Some even brought along their families, with babies and children seen taking photos with the Langgak Duta sign board. What a great place for a family outing.

Cars could also be seen passing by and slowing down to take pictures, while a few members of the press still remained waiting there. Such dedication!

News about this “tourist” destination also elicited some witty remarks by Malaysian netizens. Some had joked about how our former Minister of Tourism, Dato’ Seri Mohamed Nazri, should promote Najib’s house as a ‘Cuti-Cuti Malaysia‘ destination.

Others suggested it could be part of a “Curi-Curi Malaysia” holiday tour, saying that piggy banks shaped as a Birkin handbag could also be made into souvenirs. Wah, so creative…not a bad suggestion, actually! Lol!

However, the visitors have not just been “tourists” as they have also been a nuisance to the residents of that area, according to Straits Times, with people discarding their rubbish everywhere. Haiyo, at least clean up after yourselves, people!

Najib’s supporters have also showed up at his home to give moral support, according to the New Straits Times. Former Umno Chief Minister Tan Sri Ali Rustam was one of the former prime minister’s visitors, who wished nothing but the best for him.

Are you planning on paying a visit to Najib’s house, too? Let us know in the comments below!
