According to NST, the Malaysian Meteorological Department has forecasted that bad weather is expected over a few states in Peninsular Malaysia. The situation will persist from Sunday (29 October) to Thursday (2 November).
Since it’ll be raining cats and dogs, Malaysians who live in low-lying areas are urged to take safety precautions and be prepared for the upcoming flood.
Here’s a list of the flood-prone areas.
- Perak – Manjung, Perak Tengah, Bagan Datoh and Hilir Perak
- Selangor – Gombak, Petaling Jaya, Klang, Kuala Langat, Sepang and Hulu Langat
- Negeri Sembilan – Jelebu, Jempol and Tampin
- Johor – Segamat, Batu Pahat, Kluang, Mersing, Kota Tinggi, Johor Bahru, Kulai and Pontian
- Pahang – Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Raub, Bentong, Rompin, Pekan and Kuantan
- Kelantan – Tumpat, Pasir Mas, Kota Bharu, Bachok, Pasir Puteh, Machang and Tanah Merah
- Terengganu
- Kuala Lumpur
- Putrajaya

Tourism in Terengganu will be affected by the monsoon season as tourists won’t be able to access offshore islands until March next year. This is due to the safety concerns as the sea can get pretty rough.
“The condition of strong winds and rough seas is dangerous to small crafts, recreational sea activities and sea sports,” as written on the official website.
Besides Terengganu, similar weather can be expected off the coast of Kelantan, Pahang and Johor.
