When we know that we will be going to a government department, we will adhere to the dress code strictly just to be sure that we will be able to get our things done. However, there will be times when even that is not enough.

Sharing with her Twitter followers, Kluang MP Wong Shu Qi has talked about a dress code incident when she was an ADUN in the DUN of Johor.

“There was once a UMNO ADUN who made a complaint to the Jurutulis because I wore a dress that was above my knee to attend state assembly.”

For illustration purposes only.

Taking the complaint, the Jurutulis had to go and check the MP like how they did back in high school. After a thorough examination, the Jurutulis had said that the dress was indeed knee-length, just that it flipped a little when she was walking.

After that was settled, the MP went back to the lounge to have her breakfast. The MP who complained then walked into the room and declared smugly that MP Wong was going against the dress code.

However, MP Wong did not just sit there silently and take it. No, she instead, chose to rebuke him and said,

“I’m sitting now and YB can still see my knees, but why do you keep looking? Look elsewhere.”

Well, that is certainly a line that many of us will keep in our books.

In the thread, the MP ended the story by saying,

“Men, please move your eyes and focus on your work.”

Many women have shared similar experiences in the comments section of the thread.
