Health Minsiter Khairy Jamaluddin has announced that all foreign tourists entering Malaysia will no longer need to complete the traveller’s card feature in MySejahtera beginning 1 August 2022. Allaying any fears that the public may have, Khairy asserted,
“During arrival at PMA, if a traveller is detected with a fever through a thermal scanner or is found to be unwell, they will be referred for re-examination by the health department,”
Moreover, after the health assessment is made and the tourist is suspected of having an infectious diseases such as Covid-19, monkeypox or others, they will be referred to a nearby health facility for examination and further treatment if necessary. Khairy also urged for all travellers that have arrived from overseas to practice self-monitoring and comply with the prescribed SOPs.
