A husband and wife’s tactic of disguising their drug trafficking activities behind a fresh chicken business and working as an e-hailing driver was ultimately exposed when Kelantan police successfully uncovered their role as masterminds of a drug syndicate.
Drugs worth RM3.1 million were seized along with the couple, aged 31 and 49, who were arrested at 4 am on Jalan Padang Sembilan, Jalan Kuala Krai-Gua Musang in Kuala Krai on Friday.

Kelantan Police Chief, Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mamat, said the couple was apprehended while traveling in a Proton X70. Upon inspection, police found plastic packages containing dried plant material suspected to be cannabis, weighing approximately 60.8kg.
“Also found were compressed blocks of dried plant material suspected to be cannabis weighing around 6.95kg, and a transparent plastic packet containing 150 yaba pills.”
Additionally, a wooden-handled kerambit (curved knife) approximately 15 centimeters long was seized.
The total value of the first seizure was RM2.37 million.

Following the arrest, further investigation led to a second discovery later the same day at 3:30 pm. Police inspected a house in Taman Merbau Utama, Selising, where they found boxes placed on the front floor of the house and inside a Nissan X-Trail vehicle.
Inside were transparent plastic packages, each containing compressed dried plant material suspected to be cannabis, with a gross weight of 11.16kg.
Also found were red boxes containing compressed dried plant material suspected to be cannabis weighing 9kg, and a black plastic bag containing 2kg of similar material.

The total value of the second seizure was RM775,600. Police also confiscated RM2,422 in cash and jewelry worth RM58,422.
The male suspect tested positive for methamphetamine, while the female tested negative. Both have prior drug-related offenses.
