While some movies have moral values for the audience to absorb and reflect upon, the entertainment values are often the main attraction for moviegoers.

For Kedah MB, Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor, he admitted that he grew up with some of the characters from The Transformer movies. While he is not so familiar with all the characters, there are 2 antagonists that he can remember fondly – Optimus Prime and Bumblebee. In a Facebook post last night (August 29), Sanusi shared an inspiring story about how Optimus Prime has left an impact to him.

In fact, Sanusi admitted that Optimus Prime, who is the leader of the Autobots has taught him how to be a leader.

“We’re in this together”

The Menteri Besar of Kedah said that Optimus Prime has convinced him that we’re never alone in a fight, and in Sanusi’s case, it’s his career in the politic world. He also highlighted how trust is 1 of the key factors in maintaining a functional team.

“We’re not alone and we have to fight together. As leaders, we have to trust each and every one of our team members. Everyone has something they’re good at.”

Not only that but Sanusi also explained how Optimus Prime is not a superior figure who simply bosses around by barking orders. Instead, the leader of Autobots go down to the field and fight the war together with them.

And that inspired Sanusi to be the same too.

“Optimus Prime doesn’t watch his team fight alone. He’s there at the battlefield with them.”

Sanusi recently visited Pantai Chenang in Langkawi during his spare time, where he met with some people who dressed as the figures from the Transformers, including Optimus Prime and Bumblebee.

He also had the opportunity to meet and take pictures with some of the visitors at the beach during the night.

Movies are not just about entertainment but a movie connoisseur has the tendency to explore, absorb and “feel” the underlying message that a film is trying to convey to the audience.

In this case, can you relate to what Sanusi feels about Optimus Prime? Fans of Transformers, what do you have to say about the fictional characters in the movie?
