The Federal Territories Islamic Religious Department (JAWI) will hold a meeting soon with a local man who dressed like a woman while attending a recent international-level event.
JAWI Director, Hanifuddin Roslan, said the meeting is for further investigation.

“JAWI has taken note of the incident. A call has been made, and a meeting with the individual involved will be held soon,” he said in a statement.
JAWI instructed to investigate the matter
Previously, a 27-second video went viral on social media showing the man wearing a revealing dress at an international event.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs), Dr Zulkifli Hasan, stated that JAWI has been instructed to conduct further investigations into the matter.

According to him, this step is to enable appropriate action to be taken under existing laws, following the man’s actions that sparked negative public reactions and were deemed to challenge religious sensitivities and cultural norms in the country.
At the same time, he said JAWI has been directed to work with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) to remove the related content from social media.
