More often than not, our names carry the well wishes and aspirations our parents have for us. Good virtues and auspicious words normally come to their minds when deciding our names. But for this Indonesian couple, things were a little bit different.
Just last month, a cute little baby born on the 26th of April was given a name that many of us are familiar with – Pajero Sport.

This amusing story came to light after a card announcing the birth of the baby went super-viral on social media. On the card, it was clearly written ‘Pajero Sport’.

The parents of Pajero Sport, Muis Iskandar and Novi Yanti, live in Tangerang Selatan, Indonesia, as reported by Kompas. When asked about the reason behind his interesting choice of name, Muis said that he didn’t have any special aspiration for his son. And that he just really likes Pajero Sport (the car).
“When my wife gave birth to our baby, I just feel like naming him that. Some say that I purposely did that to seek attention from Mitsubishi, but that wasn’t true,” Muis said.
I can foresee this day coming few years down the road…
Apparently the unique name has caught the attention of Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha Sales Indonesia (MMKSI) , and they are now looking forward to meet the baby. On the social media account of the company, it was announced:
“Anyone who knows or has the contact numbers of the family who named their baby Pajero Sport, please contact us. We would like to meet up and thank them for choosing the name.”
Some netizens speculated that Muis wanted his son to be strong and athletic when he grows up, hence the name Pajero Sport. Some netizens were also curious about the names given to their first three children.
Well, one thing’s for sure, the baby certainly wouldn’t feel right if he drives another car other than a Pajero Sport when he grows up.
