A social media influencer in India has gone viral after she shamelessly asked her followers to donate money so she could buy the latest iPhone model, according to broadcaster NDTV.

The girl, named Mahi Singh, requested her followers to donate just 1 rupee (~RM0.04) or 2 rupees (~RM0.09).

According to Mahi, she wants to buy the iPhone 17 Pro Max, which costs around 149,000 rupees (~RM7,094) and was launched earlier this month.

She had asked her father to buy the phone, but he refused, saying he had already gifted her an iPhone 16 three months ago.

“The iPhone 17 Pro Max was just launched and I really love its colour. Three months ago, my father gave me the iPhone 16. I want to get this new phone for my birthday on October 21.”

“If each of you donates 1 or 4 rupees, I can buy this phone. I thank you all for making my dream come true,” she said in a video.

The video has garnered over 38,000 views and sparked various reactions with plenty of netizens calling her out for being spoilt and entitled.

It is unclear how much she received in donations in the end.
