“I would like to thank my coaches” – Kimberly Bong Wins Malaysia’s 10th Gold at 2023 SEA Games for Diving

Kimberly Bong’s victory in the women’s 3m springboard event yesterday gave Malaysia an impressive start to the opening day of the 2023 SEA Games diving segment.

The 21-year-old diver defeated eight other divers in the final, which was held at the Morodok Techo National Aquatic Centre, Cambodia by scoring 276.30 points in a total of five dives.

 

Since making her SEA Games debut in 2017, this Sarawak-born athlete’s first gold medal win further strengthens Malaysia’s dominance in the diving category.

Kimberly’s win is also is the 10th gold medal for Malaysia at the 2023 SEA Games.

In a short interview posted by Malaysia’s National Sports Council on Facebook, Kimberly thanks her coaches, teammates, friends and family for their support, saying that her win wouldn’t have been possible without them.
