Hear ye, hear ye, all Honda drivers! Honda is recalling some of its units that were released in the year 2013 for some replacements.
The popular car brand has announced that they will be recalling 28,399 units of some of their 2013 models Quick, check your Honda’s model!
This recall is to replace the Takata passenger front airbag inflator for four types of 2013 Honda free of charge. Here are the affected models:
- Honda City
- Honda Jazz
- Honda Jazz Hybrid
- Honda Insight
According to Honda Malaysia, they will be informing all their affected customers through notification letters soon. So, if you have a 2013 Honda of the types mentioned above, then you should be getting a letter soon.
The letter will also include the details of the product recall. An excerpt from their statement reads,
“Customers who receive these letters are encouraged to send their vehicles to the nearest Honda authorised dealer for inspection and placement for free.”
“Customers are urged to immediately replace the affected airbag inflator once parts are read.”
Free replacements! Hurrah!
However, Honda Malaysia clarified that all its current models that are being sold are not affected. It’s only the 2013 Hondas, guys!
On the other hand, March this year (2018), Honda Malaysia replaced Takata driver front airbags for almost 223,000 units, making the total number of Takata driver and passenger front airbag inflators that have been replaced more than 435,000 units.
If you’re a Honda owner but don’t know if your car is affected by this replacement, you can check their website to see if your car needs a Takata passenger’s airbag replacement. All you have to do is key in your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN/CHASSIS) in the space provided!
