Haze is so Bad that Number of People Falling Sick in Malaysia Now Increased to 40%!

It’s getting worse!

According to The Star, our Health Ministry Director-General, Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said that 40% of Malaysians have been reported to suffer from haze related diseases; such as conjunctivitis, asthma and skin rashes.

He also mentioned that the number of cases varies between stations.

Areas with higher Air Pollutant Index (API) have higher number of people suffering from respiratory infections, conjunctivitis, and skin rashes. Just like a primary school hypothesis ya; the more the API, the higher chance for you to be sick.

He also said:

“When going outside, it is necessary to take extra precautions as protection from the haze. Use face masks and constantly wash your face and exposed parts of the body.”

On a lighter note, Labuan Health Department Director, Dr Ismuni Bohari revealed that haze-related illness records in Labuan have increased less than 5%.

“So far, the API in Labuan has remained moderate level at between 70 and 80. Nevertheless, a surveillance conducted by my department found no significant rise of related illnesses,” he said

We are indeed in dark times so please drink a lot of water okay? Mask your entire family and even your guard dog if you have to!
