Even with all the baby dumping news circulating recently, this is by far the most shocking and inhumane way one could dispose of another person’s life.
When residents staying in Chin Swee Road HDB block in Singapore reported an unusual stench emmiting from their residence on 10th September, authorities that investigated the situation did not expect to find the half-cooked corpse of a foetus in a metal pot.
According to The New Paper, a neighbour known as Ms Chong, said there had been a strong smell in the corridor for about two weeks before the police were alerted.
“I don’t know how to describe it, but the smell was unsettling. It is something I have never smelled before.”
The foetus corpse was allegedly found in a “charred” condition. Hence, the police were unable to ascertain the identity of the foetus or when the “cooking” of its body actually started happening.
According to information given by residents staying at HDB block, the unit has reportedly been occupied by two brothers for 4 months now.
However, the older brother is currently serving a sentence in prison, which leaves his 20-year-old younger sibling the sole occupant of the flat.
Must Share News reports that the younger brother was interrogated by the police yesterday evening. However, a neighbour known as Lim disclosed that the young man has intellectual disabilities and rarely left his home.
“Whenever I walked past, his gate and door would be open, and he would often be watching television and laughing loudly to himself.”
Neighbours have also said that they had spotted a young woman going in and out of the unit. She’s believed to have a close relationship with the brothers but it is unknown on whether the lady is involved in the incident.
The previous tenants of the flat were a married couple who had many young children. Authorities are reportedly looking for these occupants to assist in further investigation of the murder.
What a cruel way to handle someone’s life! RIP to this foetus who couldn’t fight for his/herself.
