An application for an allocation of RM1.5 million to complete the development and upgrade of the Laksamana Hang Tuah Mosque in Duyong, Melaka, is expected to be brought to the attention of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim (PMX), thanks to the cooperation of an UMNO and DAP politician.
Duyong State Assemblyman (ADUN), Datuk Mohd Noor Helmy Abdul Halem, took to his Facebook page to share how the application will be brought before the Prime Minister by Kota Melaka MP, Khoo Poay Tiong.

He wrote, “Tomorrow (20 January), YB Khoo Poay Tiong will be meeting with PMX Anwar Ibrahim. So, I informed YB Khoo that I had requested RM1.5 million from PMX to complete the upgrading process of the Laksamana Hang Tuah Mosque. I have followed all the correct processes and code of conduct.”
“I have met with various figures in power to ask for help. It is said that the document has recently arrived on PMX’s desk. I asked YB Khoo for help in persuading PMX to sign it so that it will be approved, and for him to bring PMX for a walk in Duyong to eat Kuih Cakar Ayam at Ojan Perigi Hang Tuah. YB Khoo said okay, he will whisper this (in PMX’s ear) tomorrow.”
Malaysian netizens were impressed by their teamwork
Malaysians took to the comment section of his post to share their delight over the politicians working together despite being from opposing political parties.

“Politics in a healthy and mature manner not only benefits the people but also brings prosperity to the country. Let’s not get carried away by drama or rhetorics. The people are getting smarter in their judgment. YB is the best!”

“If you do the work, it doesn’t matter which party you’re from. YB Khoo and YB Helmy are among the examples of a good combination of an ADUN and an MP. They work for the people even though they are from different parties.”

“They are working together to provide comfort and benefits for the common folks, not for personal gain. Any politician with a sound mind is the best!”

What do you think of the 2 politicians working together? Do feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section.
