This is pretty scary, considering how packed this tourist spot was just a few days ago during the holidays!

According to Channel NewsAsia, four people suffered injuries after a ceiling at Resorts World Sentosa, Singapore suddenly collapsed earlier this morning at around 10am (2nd January).

A ceiling board reportedly collapsed during repair works at the popular tourist destination’s casino this morning, and four workers were injured as a result.

Not long after that, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) reported to the scene when they were alerted of the incident at around 10.13am. Three of the injured workers, who suffered head injuries among abrasions and cuts, were sent to the Singapore General Hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, the fourth victim was treated at the Resorts World Sentosa in-house clinic.

One visitor who was at the casino during the incident told the daily, “I heard a loud sound. I think there was one person who was injured, but with very mild injuries. The security guard helped him out, but it’s not very serious. Probably the corner of (the ceiling board) hit him.”

Thankfully, the accident took place at an area that was closed off to the public, so no one else was injured.

Given that this is such a popular tourist destination, we hope this incident won’t happen again, especially during peak holiday seasons with so many visitors!
