The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) has arrested a 17-year-old male student in Setapak, Kuala Lumpur, after he attacked his father with a knife at their home on Monday (17 November).
The suspect is believed to have turned aggressive after his father scolded him for skipping school.

Wangsa Maju District Police Chief ACP Mohamad Lazim Ismail was quoted by Sinar Harian as saying that the police received a report on the incident at 6:42 PM on Monday.
“The suspect, who is a Form 5 student, had injured the 47-year-old victim due to a misunderstanding between them. The victim suffered wounds on his back and left arm from the suspect’s knife slashes,” he added.

The Wangsa Maju District Police Chief further revealed that the father received treatment for the injuries at Kuala Lumpur Hospital.
The suspect is placed under remand until 20 November
The 17-year-old suspect has been placed under arrest under Sections 324 and 506 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means and criminal intimidation, respectively.
Furthermore, a remand order under Section 117 of the Criminal Procedure Code has been approved, and the suspect will be placed under remand from today until tomorrow (20 November).
