The rain has been pouring like clockwork these few days. As soon as evening is here, rain drops will start trickling down, evolving into a massive thunder storm seconds later.

Kuala Lumpur today is no different and within minutes later, it has been struck with flash floods along Bangsar, Jalan Semantan and Jalan Pudu.

The teh tarik coloured floods took drivers by surprise as many struggled to avoid the water filled roads as much as they could.

The pretty high levels of water got a lot of Malaysian drivers anxious (trust me, I was one of them) and some even detoured their way to avoid the flood-filled area.

Unfortunately for some, it’s already too late. The floods have already engulfed some cars, submerging half the vehicle underwater. People all over Malaysia expressed their sympathy for whoever’s car was in the picture.

Pictures circulated online, showing how bad the situation was.

Malaysian readers who saw the images were shocked at the terrible incident. Some expressed their sympathy to the vehicle owners.

Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department deputy director Azizan Ismail said reports of flash floods began about in at 7.30pm. Additionally, “There are 28 staff on standby, ready to assist in case of any emergencies,”  he said.
