Engineer Accused of Using Pen Camera to Film Late Wife’s Sister in Melaka Bathroom Pleads Not Guilty

A widowed engineer pleaded not guilty at the Magistrate’s Court today (April 18) to charges of recording a video of his former sister-in-law naked in his late wife’s bathroom.

The father of 2 made the plea after the charge was read to him in front of Magistrate Nurul Asyikin Rosli, as reported by Sinar Harian.

He recorded a video using a pen camera

According to the charge, the accused is said to have violated and disturbed the decency of a 40-year-old woman by recording a video of her naked using a pen camera.

The incident took place in a bathroom at a house in Tanjung Kling, Melaka, around 2 PM in the middle of June last year.

The prosecution was carried out under Section 509 of the Penal Code, which provides for a penalty of up to 5 years in prison, a fine, or both upon conviction.

The court granted a RM4k bail

Deputy Public Prosecutor Syaza Nur Sharif asked for bail to be set at RM15,000 with one surety.

The accused, who was represented by lawyer Kent Tan Chow Teng, asked for a lower bail, saying he has to support his 2 young kids, aged 2 and 4, as well as his parents.

The court ended up allowing bail at RM4,000 and fixed June 4 as the next mention date.
