This is the question that has been bogging many parents’ heads. When will school be reopened?
According to the deputy education minister, he has said that the date will be made known to the public on 10th June. The National Security Council, Education and Health Ministries will be having a meeting together to discuss when schools will be allowed to open.
However, not all students will be going back to school. As of now, only Form Five, Form Six, Vocational and Sijil Tinggi Agama (Stam) students will be going back to school as they will face national exams.
“There will be over 300,000 students in this category that will return back to schools two weeks after the announcement is made.”
Other than that, Muslimin Yahaya has also said that all teachers are required to go back to school to help out as each class has been limited to 16-20 students. He added that schools have been briefed on the required SOPs and he’s confident that those SOPs will curb the spread of Covid-19.
“With smaller classes, temperature taking and using hand sanitisers in schools, this will help prevent the spread of the virus.”
However, parents are reminded that they should not send their kids with cough, fever, or flu symptoms to school.
