Teratai cluster which is linked to glove manufacturing company, Top Glove and the workers’ dormitories has recorded over 1,000 positive Covid-19 cases so far. Due to this, the government announced that the male and female dormitories will be placed under the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) starting 27 November in order to test every worker there.
In his press conference today, Defence Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri announced that based on the Ministry of Health’s observation, the cluster recorded 1,067 positive cases TODAY!
MOH has done 5,794 tests on the workers and 1,889 positive cases have been recorded. Due to this, the National Security Council has agreed that 28 Top Glove factories in Klang will be shut down in stages for the workers to be tested and undergo the mandatory quarantine period.
The closure will be enforced by the Selangor State Security Committee and the Top Glove management.
