This is a pretty disturbing sight.
Yesterday, news of an Indonesian woman who was murdered at a budget hotel in Kampung Baru shocked Malaysian netizens.
The woman, who was reportedly in her twenties, was found stabbed and had the left side of her neck slashed. A staff member found her lying in a pool of blood at around 1.35pm on Tuesday (10th October), according to The Star.
“Early investigations show that the victim checked into the hotel with two men (in their 20s), believed to be foreigners, at around 9am. One of them entered the room with her while the other left the hotel,” Dang Wangi OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Sukri Kaman told the daily.
The other man left the hotel a while after that.
Now, one of the suspects has been arrested at Chow Kit while the other suspect is still at large.
However, one of the more unsettling parts about this case took place when the deceased woman’s body was being transported out of the hotel by the authorities.
A video showing a group of people rushing to take photos and videos of the woman’s body has since surfaced online yesterday (11th October).
Some netizens were unsettled by how casually these people were crowding around to take photos of the woman’s body.
To be honest, we’re pretty uncomfortable from watching that video too. Let’s have some respect for the deceased and not behave this way. Our condolences go out to this poor woman’s family and friends.
Meanwhile, we hope the authorities manage to nab the other suspect and investigate this tragic incident accordingly.
