Couple Suffers Losses Worth RM11k After Rider in Setia Alam Fakes Accident & Snatches Necklace

A recent video shared via MYNEWSHUB shows a couple inspecting their car when a man suddenly robbed the male victim before speeding off on his motorcycle.

Police have since opened an investigation into the viral video showing a snatch theft incident that happened in front of a supermarket in Setia Alam yesterday (April 10), as reported by Harian Metro.

The motorcyclist claimed he hit their car

Shah Alam District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said they received a report from the victim at 2:08pm yesterday, claiming he was robbed after shopping at a convenience store in Setia Alam.

According to the report, the incident happened when the victim and his wife were approached by a man riding a red Yamaha 135 LC motorcycle.

The motorcyclist claimed to have hit the front of the victim’s car, causing damage.

The estimated loss was around RM11,000

Iqbal further explained that the victim was fortunately unharmed, but the loss is estimated to be around RM11,000.

He added that the case is being investigated under Section 392 of the Penal Code, and anyone with information is urged to contact the investigating officer, Inspector Muhammad Naqiuddin Nawawi, at 012-3848103 to assist with the case.
