More plans are being revealed for the Budget 2022 by The Minister of Finance, Tengku Zafrul Bin Tengku Abdul Aziz in the Parliament today.

The government is set to allocate an amount of RM20 million next year to contribute to the growth of e-sports. This includes RM5 million to build a facility for drone sports. After congratulating Malaysians on their performance at the recently concluded Dota 2 tournament in Romania, the minister also announced that e-sports earnings will be tax exempted.

In the meantime, Electric vehicles (EV) will also be exempted from tax as they are not subjected to import duties, excise duties and sales tax. A tax relief amounting to RM2,500 is also among the benefits that the owners of EV vehicles will receive.

Another RM10 billion will also be raised through Suku Kelestarian (sustainability bonds) for social or environmentally friendly projects.

Stay tuned for more updates!
