Human’s can’t have one nice thing. We need to take everything to its extreme limits but it’s ruined for everyone. Exhibit A: Boba.

Previously, Japan has introduced boba rice and boba beer. That’s nothing because now we have boba sushi, and boba nagashi somen (flowing stream). WTF?!

Mr Sato from SoraNews24 was the creator of boba rice, where he cooked rice in bubble tea and tapioca pearls. Naturally, he thought of adding it to sushi as well.

It looks like a typical gunkan-maki (battleship sushi) with the usual seaweed sheet and rice.

But wait! Did he just decide to add tapioca pearls onto the rice!?

Oh Wait

We can’t tell if this looks appetizing at all… But he seems to be enjoying his “masterpiece” though.

In addition to boba sushi, there’s also boba nagashi-somen.

If you didn’t know what nagashi-somen is, it’s also called “Flowing Japanese Bamboo Noodles”, a dining experience where you fish out the noodles with chopsticks from the flowing stream right in front of you. It’s a delicacy that the Japanese enjoy during hot summer days.

However, someone in Japan decided to use a nagashi somen machine with tapioca pearls. How does that even work?!

Well, this is how normal people use the machine.

And this is how it looks like filled with tapioca pearls… OMG.

Some people just want to see the world burn.

The tapioca pearls run in the water and the challenge is to fish them out using a pair of chopsticks. Not sure about the taste but it does look fun though!

Guess there will be more and more interesting ideas that surface as long as the boba trend is still going strong.

What a time to be alive.
