A Raya Fiesta in Kedah recently was allegedly told to cease operations after Azwan Ali performed Dangdut on the stage. Azwan, commonly known as Diva AA made it clear that not only he is not going to apologise for the matter but also insisted that the closure wasn’t his fault.
Azwan spoke to the media recently and said that the video of him dancing has been manipulated to instill hatred towards him.
“It wasn’t my dance but it was the fiesta itself!”
The Malaysian TV host clarified that his Dangdut performance on the stage did not seal the fate of the fiesta, but it was the slow business itself.
“I had nothing to do with the closure! The fiesta shut down because the business was not doing well, there was no crowd!”
According to Azwan, his performance was initially praised but not after the viral video was manipulated to tarnish his name and image.
“This is such a big defamation to me! Don’t be rude with me. Those who embarrassed me, wait for the letter from my lawyer!”
Azwan added that he would not apologise to anyone for the matter, and assured the people that he would not be affected by the viral video, saying,
“I am still standing strong!”
“Apologise to me!”
In another report, Azwan said he is expecting the organiser to issue an apology to him. Additionally, he also said that he did not get paid for the show.
“I turned a blind eye on the matter because the organiser told me repeatedly that he had no budget. Regardless, I drove all the way to Kedah for the show because my friend, Diva BB was there.”
Earlier, the organiser of the Raya Fiesta in Kedah apologised to Malaysians after the event had to be shut down following Azwan’s viral Dangdut performance. The event, which was supposed to go on until April 9, ended on March 30.
We hope both parties can reach a middle ground in this matter.
