Celebrity chef and entrepreneur, Khairul Aming recently launched his second new product – Dendeng Nyet Berapi which was a massive success, and the biggest one in his entire career so far. In less than 4 minutes, he made RM1.2 million. No cheap marketing, no bad dramas. Just years of hard work with knowledge and skills.
Any of us could be a successful entrepreneur, but we have to start learning about it as early as in secondary school, according to Ahmad Maslan. In his X post, Ahmad shared his take on the news about Khairul’s recent big sales.
“To run a business, you need to have knowledge, you need to know how to look for your business capital.”
One of the best ways and places to gain business knowledge – is none other than the school.
Ahmad believes that entrepreneurship studies should be made available at secondary schools. However, there’s another concern.
“400,000 Malaysian students sat for SPM last year. Only 51% of them furthered their studies. The remaining survived on small wages by working at factories, and other places.”
The debate about furthering studies is also being spoken about actively, where some influencers are claiming that they gained nothing from SPM.
“You can’t live with a small income forever”
Ahmad also said that if students, especially those interested in running their businesses are equipped with the right knowledge since secondary school, then it might change their fate in the future, especially in terms of how much they make.
“They will not have to rely solely on small income to survive.”
Regardless of what you have in mind in terms of your future career, nothing comes before your education. Do you think entrepreneurship studies should start as early as high school?
