Honda HR-V is one of the more popular cars on the road these days due to its sporty and stylish exterior. However, if you own one of these vehicles, this news might slightly upset you.

Earlier today, Honda Malaysia has issued a recall over the 2016 Honda HR-V model because the strength of the front stabiliser bar may have been possibly compromised.

According to Paul Tan, 2,814 units of HR-V are affected in this nationwide recall. This had to be done because the front stabiliser bar may give up and break under high stress.

The potential breakage is due to the insufficient temperature control during its manufacturing process, thus weakening the stabiliser bar.

In the event that the stabiliser bar is broken, the wheels may become unbalanced, and you will definitely feel it when the car starts to lean towards the left or right.

Having said that, no accidents caused by a broken stabiliser bar have been reported so far. In order to ensure the safety of passengers, Honda Malaysia has urged all affected HR-V owners to send in their vehicles for inspection. It would buy you a peace of mind, wouldn’t it?

The compromised bars will be replaced with brand new parts that are met with the manufacturing standards. Don’t worry, all the cost are borne by Honda Malaysia.

Honda Malaysia will notify the affected owners through letters. They’ve also assured the public that no other models within the line-up are affected by this issue.
