So, we’ve had the nasi lemak burger, the char kuay teow burger, and now, someone finally decided to take things to yet another level — with a laksa cocktail!

Bonfire, is a local restaurant and bar that specialises in modern Australian cuisine. Most of their dishes are cooked in a custom-made wood and charcoal fired oven, giving everything a unique charred taste.

The restaurant, located in Starling Mall, Damansara Utama, is owned by two sisters who wanted to bring the concept of wood and charcoal-roasted food here, making sure everything had that unique Malaysian twist of course. One of the sisters, Ai Peng, also opened the popular brunch spot, Red Beanbag in Publika!

Now, you can say that the most Malaysian item on Bonfire’s menu is probably their Demi Cinta Laksa cocktail. Of course, “laksa” isn’t the first thing you’d think of when you’re looking for a unique cocktail, but this could prove you wrong!

Demi Cinta Laksa is a Tanqueray gin-based cocktail served with torch ginger flower petals, lime, tamarind, ginger, pineapple, garnished with a sprig of mint. According to Star2, it tastes pretty much like a sweet-sour laksa broth, spiked with a little gin! Wah!

Of course, they have to serve it in a laksa bowl, too!

We have to admit, this has got us pretty curious!

If you want to try this unique drink for yourself, the RM45 cocktail is served after 5pm, along with their other cocktails. Here’s where they’re located!

Address: Lot G-032, The Starling Mall, Jalan SS21/37, Damansara Utama, Petaling Jaya

Opening Hours: 11.00am – 12.00am

If cocktails aren’t your thing, they have other super interesting and very well presented dishes you could check out too!
