It’s no secret that a large majority of Malaysians rely on public transportation to get to work. Which is why it’s a HUGE inconvenience that 16 LRT stations (among them are some of the busiest LRT stations) have been closed for an entire week.

To try and rectify the situation, RapidKL arranged for buses to transport passengers between non-functioning stations. But the question is, is that even enough?

Netizen, faris_syrup, took to his Twitter account to showcase a massive crowd of passengers at the Damai LRT station, waiting for the buses in which only one arrived every half an hour. With that many people effected by the LRT station closures, one bus per every half an hour really isn’t sufficient.

In the thread, another Malaysian who was at the same station during the time, shared that people were pushing and screaming in attempts to enter the bus.

“I swear it’s dangerous, please RapidKL, provide more guards to take care of this area,” she added.

While we can’t help but not blame the passengers for succumbing to desperation as many need to get to work on time to make a living for themselves and their loved ones, it is indeed dangerous and may potentially cause harm to others.

We genuinely hope that everyone will refrain from pushing through the crowd as it could lead to worse situations.
