Tragic accidents are difficult to witness as someone could be alive and well one moment and not, the very next moment all because of something that wasn’t even their fault.

It was recently reported that a primary 5 pupil has passed away after a goal post fell on him during a sports meet held at a football field in Menggatal, Sabah.

According to The Borneo Post, Kota Kinabalu police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zaidi Abdullah said that the 11-year-old victim and a student from SRK(C) Lok Yuk, were rushed to the Likas Hospital following the 12:20pm incident.

“The boy was pronounced dead while being treated in hospital, after sustaining injuries on his head.”

He said that the boy’s father was present at the annual sports fair at SJK(C) Lok Yuk when he noticed pupils gathering in a group and making a commotion on the field.
