Zoo Negara is a good place to spend time with your significant other, family and friends as you can walk for hours and enjoy the company of each other. The animals’ antics are also often amusing.

On 11 September, Nabil Nasharuddin went to Zoo Negara and came across the capybara section. After looking at them taking shelter from the rain, he realised that there was a “spy” who was camouflaging in the family of capybaras.

The spy turned out to be an orange cat that is also affectionately known as oyen to Malaysians! Thinking it was funny, Nabil then took a video of them and posted it on TikTok on 16 September.

The short clip exposing the “spy” has gone viral with more than 400,000 likes!

Many netizens were amused with Oyen’s stealth and his social prowess.

“Don’t talk to him, it is in disguise now.”

“This oyen is really friendly to the point that it can get into other social groups.”

“I’m worried that it might enter the tiger’s enclosure someday.”

“No wonder oyens are unique, they are endangered and protected by the government.”

This is actually not the first time that an oyen was seen hanging out with the capybaras in Zoo Negara. In 2021, an oyen (we’re not sure if it’s the same one), was spotted in the capybara enclosure taking a big fat nap.
